Szechwan prawns.. Been going here for 40 years so they must be doing something right, I love the food.

This is our favorite Chinese food place in the east bay area. Close to Orinda BART station, owners are friendly, always gives my wife green tea while we wait for our take-out. Fast food prep, and reheating food at home doesn't affect quality of food.

My girlfriend showed me this Gem of a restaurant years ago. Her family has eaten here since old ownership. Well I'm happy that not much has changed food wise. They are still making delicious food and offering amazing service. I love this place and everyone is so friendly.

A definite favorite restaurant. This time we tried the BBQ Pork Chow Fun, along with regular dishes and I have been looking forward to the next visit already, to get that again! Very friendly & competent staff.

Good foods and services

From the home made pot stickers to the orange slices at the end of our meal, everything was amazing. The honey walnut prawns had the right amount of mayonnaise and it was not overly sweet. Perfect balance. We also order the BBQ Pork Chow fun with steamee broccoli, salt and pepper prawns, and tomato prawns. They were all so delicious.The food was not oily at all. This is my go to place when I'm in the area.

We stopped by couple of days ago. I am from China and picky about Chinese food with high expectations of food serviced by Bay Area Chinese restaurants - not too Americanized with great deal of authenticity, if not to its entirety. This one is all right, taking consideration of its location in the small East Bay town with far less Chinese or Asian residents than other parts of Bay Area.

ordered Hot 'n Sour soup for family member with a cold. Instead got wonton soup and "green beans made just for you". Huh?

This is the kind of Chinese restaurant everyone deserves!

Spectacular fresh fun friendly

Love this place so much. Reasonable price and super good food. Their service is super friendly and they are fast! Can not be more satisfied.

We come here at least once a week. Consistently delicious flavors and generous portions. Lately I have been ordering a huge platter of hot spicy eggplant and also garlic green beans, then I will order a Ma Po Tofu to take home and use it over the next few days to add its excellent flavor to my plain dishes at home. My favorite has always been the Hong Kong style chow mein which I ask for without meat. The vegetables are bright and crisp; the noodles are a combination of crunchy and soft with a lovely gravy and everything always arrives piping hot and fresh. I can't stop eating those noodles even if the portion is extremely large! A new favorite is Kung Pao Tofu with its delicately crispy yet soft tofu in a flavorful sauce with peanuts. We are so lucky to have this gem of a restaurant in Orinda. The staff are always kind and warm. Also, they never turn us away even if we arrive close to their closing time, which the previous owners have done.

I get the Orange Chicken frequently for lunch and it's the best I've had.

My go-to Chinese restaurant choice when I am passing through Orinda. Food is fresh and tasty and take out service is quick. I would have taken some photos but was too hungry.

Food and experience is always great. The food is served hot and quickly. I usually go there for lunch and order the lunch specials which all include soup, salad, oranges, and a fortune cookie.I highly recommend this place to go and eat if you're in the mood for Chinese food or a good meal.

Tried this place already with my friend and I am hooked ever since. I love the fantastic vibes and delicious dishes and beverages. I recommend this place.

Decent Chinese foodA cup of soup comes with lunch. Go on Tuesday or Thursday when they have Won Ton soup. Other weekdays it's Hot and Sour soup.

Great service, fresh tasty food!

I have been eating here since they opened. Most recently for take away, which I order at least once a week for my son. They even include the soup on the luncheon special, which is very rare.I have tried other Chinese restaurants in Orinda, only to be disappointed. On one such occasion, I opened our take away order, only to discover the food was not fresh. I actually had to throw the entire order away; what a waste.Szechwan is the only Chinese restaurant we will frequent. Period. They are polite, efficient and the food is always delicious.

The ownership changed over but the food remains excellent. Always a friendly and clean place for a family meal. We start out with the pot stickers and sizzling soup. The Singapore noodle with shrimp, pork and steak in curry sauce is a must try.

This is a great place for fresh food and family service. We come here often and always enjoy!

The best Chinese food anywhere!

The food is very tasty and it's served hot. Fast and friendly service, reasonable prices.

Excellent place for Szechuan or Mandarin Chinese food. My favorite is the Walnut prawns with the creamy sauce, sweet and sour pork, and delicious soups. The place is busy but officially served if you order food and come pick it up there is a 10% discount.They have a very friendly staff and they check with you to see if you need anything. There is street parking or you can go in the parking behind the building. It is clean and nicely decorated. Don't pass this place up.

Excellent food, surprisingly good. Will be back. Sweet and sour was outstanding. And a cute little dessert included.
